Shopping & The Pumpkin Patch

Hudson telling Dixie, "Out!!" before our trip to the mall.Hudson is a monkey for Halloween.

Joshua, Dylan, JD, and Hudson playing with the pumpkins at the Pumpkin Patch.
Two Little Monkey's playing in the red wagon!!Daddy & Mommy with their Monkey and Banana.

We made it through Daddy's first business trip- he went to the cold state of Minnesota. He was gone for 2 whole days- and we survived. I was impressed with how much engery I had with the two kids, no husband, and very little sleep. We greeted him at the airport with big smiles and lots of hugs!! We are glad to have Paul back home!!

The weekend consisted of lots of shopping and a pumpkin patch.

My mom and I went for a short shopping trip on Friday. We started our trip with Dixie in the car- as if two kids weren't enough, the dog wanted to go. But we got her out of the car and went on our way. It takes a lot of skill to manuver the double stroller through a busy mall and crowded food court. Hudson didn't last too long on our outing (it was nap time), but I got 2 new shirts- thanks Mom!!

On Saturday, we went shopping again- this time with Daddy. We went to Grapevine Mills Mall and got some new clothes for Hudson. He needed some fall/winter clothes. We just love Children's Place- they have great sales and such cute clothes!! We ended the day at Babies R Us with a little Elmo potty for Hudson- we are going to attempt potty training soon. We will let you know how that goes.

Sunday, Daddy and Hudson went to church and let Mommy and Ella sleep- which was wonderful. We went to the pumpkin patch that afternoon with our Sunday School class. Hudson dressed as a monkey and Ella as his banana. It was hot, but tons of fun. Hudson didn't want to get out of Dylan's red wagon. They had a good time. After the pumpkin patch, we went shopping in Southlake- yes another shopping trip. Hudson learned how to say, "Buy It!!" It was so funny....we are working on, "Buy It, Nana" and "Buy It, Teta!!" We love it when our grandparents buy things for us!!
As far as how thing are going with a three week old- if she could get her days and nights in order then we would be good. Ella is a good sleeper- she is just sleeping more during the day instead of at night. And she won't sleep in her bed. We will keep working on it.

Yamboree

Hudson on the boats.

Can I ride the big one mommy?

We have had such a fun weekend at the Yamboree. Hudson had a blast. We left on Friday afternoon and by Friday night, Hudson was on his first ride at the Yamboree- the hobby horses. Or as Hudson would say, "Ho-see". He didn't understand that we had to get off the horses when it stopped and we had to wait in line to ride the horses- but he eventually learned. On Saturday, Hudson went to the parade with Nana and Papa and Mamaw. He loved every second of the parade. Then they went up town to ride the hobby horses again. Daddy decided he missed us all too much to stay away, so he came to Gilmer Saturday afternoon. We went up town again to ride and this time Hudson was able to ride the boats, the dinosaurs, and hobby horses. Daddy won Hudson a Curious George and a big baseball bat. We had such a great time.
Ella enjoyed meeting her great grandfather and the rest of the family while staying at Mamaw's house. She was pretty bright eyed during the days and slept pretty well. Our cousins Mallory and Madison should be our nannies- they did such a good job of helping with Ella and Hudson.

Big Girl and The Yamboree

My little 2 week old baby isn't so little anymore. We took her to the doctor today and she was 8 pounds 13 ounces. I can't believe it. She was 7 lbs. 9 oz. a week and a half ago. I guess she likes to eat. Everyone keeps telling me how big she looks- that she doesn't look like a newborn. I guess that means she is just advanced :)
Hudson has been wonderful with her- he has to help her with her paci or bottle every morning before he goes to Ms. Tiffany's or Ms. Amy's house. And when he gets home in the afternoons, he wants to hold her (which only happens with mommy's help.)
On another note- my grandfather is now in a retirement center here in Arlington- such an answer to prayer. We aren't sure how long he will stay, but he is here for now. He has a staph infection and the kids can't go up to see him, but he is closer. Pray for a fast recovery from this infection.
Hudson, Ella, and I are leaving tomorrow with my parents for Gilmer for the Yamboree. I talked to my doctor today and she told me we were cleared to go as long as Ella doesn't get out and we have people wash hands before holding her. I think Hudson will have a blast at the Yamboree- and I can sit at Mamaw's house just as well as at my house. It will also give Paul a chance to rest without any of us here.
We will definitely post some pics from the Yamboree once we get back.

The Boys

The boys watching the Cowboys.

We have had a pretty fun first week and a half of having two children. It has been a little crazy, but lots of fun. Ella is only getting up about 2 times a night. She pretty much just eat, sleeps, and we change diapers. The challenge comes when they both get up at night, which has only happened once, thankfully. Hudson is still going to his babysitters during the days, so I am able to try and keep up with the house, but mainly rest.
My mom has been out of town since Thursday with my grandfather. He has been in the hospital again. Each day brings a new problem. We are praying that he will get to go home soon. And praying that he will be open to the idea of a nursing home, which he is very against right now.
My dad has been able to come over just about every day to spend some time with us, but I know he really just wants to see Hudson and Ella.
Paul is back at work and trying to adjust to sleeping less at night and taking care of me, Hudson, and Ella. He is such a good Daddy and husband. And I love him very much!!
As for me, I am recovering and resting well. My shingles are getting better each day. They don't hurt as much now, so I think we are at the ending stages of it. We will see what this week brings.

Loving Brother and Shingles

Hudson and Ella on the way home from the hospital.....can you believe we have 2 in the back seat now!?!?!

Hudson and Ella on the couch.
We have made it through the first 4 days. Hudson is really taking to Ella really well. This morning, I was sitting on the couch with Ella. Hudson came up and pointed to the couch and said Ella. He wanted me to put Ella on the couch next to him. He crawled up on the couch and I put Ella next to him. He put his arm around her as if to say, this is my sister....don't mess with her. It just melted my heart. My mom grabbed her camera to catch the moment. I know he is going to be such a wonderful big brother!!
Ella did get to meet her Auntie Jen today and just loved her. Auntie Jen got to feed her and then she cuddled up and went right back to sleep....which seems to be her routine.
On another note, I did find out today that I have shingles on my right leg. It is pretty painful. My doctor prescribed a medicine which won't effect feeding Ella. Just pray for a speedy recovery...which they say can take up to 14 days. At least I am out of school for 6 weeks to recover.
We will keep you updated on our family of four!!

Ella's Arrival

Ella Grace Hosni entered this world today October 4, at 5:32 pm. She was 7 lbs. 15 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long. She is beautiful and looks just like her brother!! The labor went fairly well and was pretty short- 6 1/2 hours. Ella was ready and everything went smoothly. Hudson took to her really well. He points to her and says, "Ella". It was pretty cute. We will try and post a few more pics tomorrow!!! Mommy, Daddy, and Baby Ella are going to bed now!!

Fort Hudson

Hudson decided to build himself a little fort with his toys and our couch pillows. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures (especially when Hudson brought me the camera, went and posed by his fort and said cheese). He has such a cute little personality....I love it!!!
