This week each of the kids had their mommy and me day!! On Monday, Ella went to Brandi's and Hudson and I spent the day together!! We got ready and went to Bailey's birthday party- we ate lunch in the park and then went to see Cars 2- only Hudson's 3rd time to see it!! Then we went to Blue Cherry to eat some yummy fro yo!! I didn't get any pics of Hudson's day, but when I get some from Bailey's mom, I will post them,.

Then on Tuesday, Hudson went to Brandi's and Ella, Nana, and I headed to Dallas to the American Girl store, eat lunch at the AG Bistro and see Daddy at his office. Ella picked out Gracie's outfit and her own outfit!! She did a good job. We had such a fun day!!

Last weekend we had our annual Baylor Reunion!! I am not sure how many times we have all gotten together in the 10 years since college, but we do it every summer and sometimes in between!! We all have so much fun together and just pick up where we left off. With kids, husbands, jobs, and life-- we don't talk as often as we would like, but that doesn't change the fact that in the past 10 years since college we are all there for one another if it is weddings, babies, or potty training!! I love these girls and their sweet hubbies for making the trip every year!! I am ready for our Girls Trip to Mexico in 2012!!

4th of July

Fourth of July was a busy weekend!! We had a fun filled weekend!! We had a joint swim party with our class and the Lasiter's SS party. Sunday night we hung out with good friends eating dinner at Cracker Barrel and watched firework in Southlake- we ste in the Gateway parking lot, ate cracker jacks and had tons of fun-- the fireworks were amazing!! Monday night we went to the Eisenhour's house for dinner and fireworks put on by their neighbors. Overall it was a great weekend!!

NKOTBSB Concert

My sweet husband got us tickets for New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys Concert last Sunday night. So, loaded up ready for a fun evening with the girls!! We ate dinner and the Livingroom in the W hotel....I felt very out of place, but it was fun!! We had super cheap seats, so we were literally on the last row of the AAC- up with the rafters!! Marci was determined to get us better seats, after 2 times of being kicked out of "our" seats, we went to the box office and ended up 2 rows from the floor- AMAZING seats!! I felt like a 12 year old girls so excited to see NKOTB!!from the back: Marci, Melodi, Kimberly, Michelle (and baby Kylie) me, and Courtney

They even came out in Mavs jerseys- how awesome is that!!

Living Room Redo

The weekend of the Super Bowl, Paul decided to start a remodel in our living room. Keep in mind, we were having a Super Bowl party at our house with our new SS class. We moved out the entertainment center and some wonderful friends helped us build shelves. At 9:00 the night before the party- we had a guy over here mounting the tv over the fireplace. It was craziness!! Well, over the next month, we finished out the shelves, painted the room (with help from the Eisenhours), added drapes, and decorated the room. So without further adu....here is the before picture (I know, its from Christmas, but it was the only view I had of the fireplace and front of our living room New Shelves and decorations!!!

Spring Break 2011

We have had a busy Spring Break and it is only Wednesday!! We started off Spring Break by leaving Friday for Newby. We cleaned up, cleaned out, and tagged things for a big estate sale in Newby. We had a great time reliving old memories!! Pray for a good Estate Sale and a quick sale on the house and land.

We came home on Saturday night, then packed up and headed out for Gilmer to visit Mamaw and Papaw Dean!! We had a great time getting to see the family- Hudson and Ella especially had a good time seeing Callie!! They played hard and had a blast together!! We stayed in Gilmer until Tuesday and then took the scenic route home, stopping in Mineloa. We did make it back in time for dinner with Papaw and then to TBall practice.

One of the ladies helping take care of Papaw brought over a Princess kit for the little girls.... Ella and Callie had fun playing princess and Hudson helped them accessorize.

Wednesday we got up and went bowling!! Hudson has been begging to go bowling for a while, so what better time than Spring Break. We had a good time in our friends, The Cotten's. They had a blast, Hudson even cried when we left because he wanted to play a longer. I told him we would go back with Daddy. After bowling, we ate lunch at The Chik and then headed to Grapevine Mills to get some bday presents.Getting ready to bowl!!SCORE!!!Yep, we bowl Granny style!!Waiting......hopefully we will knock some down!!YES!! I GOT 1!!

We made one last stop at Mrs. Megan's bakery (Legacy Cakes in Grapevine) to pick up some cupcakes our 9 year wedding anniversary. Paul got home and surprised me with beautiful flowers and our wedding VHS video put onto a DVD- so sweet!!! Tonight, we will spend the evening at home with our kids celebrating our 9 year anniversary. I feel so blessed to be married to such a wonderful man for 9 wonderful years!!

Snow Day #4

Okay, Old Man Winter has hit again with just a few inches of snow on top of a few inches of ice. We were glad Paul made it home safely Wednesday night- it only took him an hour and a half to do the normally 45 minute drive from the airport. On Thursday morning cabin fever was setting in for me and the kids, so Paul navigated as we ventured out to Kroger....our neighborhood was crazy icy, but once we got to the highway, it was fine. We restocked the pantry with snacks and got stuff for me to make my first Pioneer Woman recipe- Chicken Spaghetti. Ella and I baked a cake and then I made us dinner- it actually wasn't bad.

Friday morning, we decided to play out in the freshly fallen snow!! It was beautiful!! Ella and Hudson wanted to shovel the snow off our cars. I tried to get them to do snow angles or even build a snowman, but they just wanted to 'clean off' our cars.

Snow Day ~ February 2011

Last night as I went to bed, I heard the winter winds whipping up outside. Old Man Winter blew in a doozie of a storm. Northwest ISD stated it was closing Tuesday on the evening news, so even if Arlington was open, I knew it would be a snow day at our house!! Luck for me, I didn't have to use a sick day- Arlington called it as did most North Texas schools. Now, since we live in Texas and hardly ever see ice and snow- everything shuts down!! But it is a great day to stay at home to get things done that I can't do on a regular day!! But, we also have to take advantage of this rare phenomenon we call snow!!! So, I bundled up the kids (each with a shirt, sweatshirt, 2 pairs of pants, 1 hat, but 2 hoods, and gloves) and we headed outside in the -2 windchilled weather!! Hudson lasted all of about 3 minutes- his legs were stinging (I think he got some ice down his pants when he went down the slide), but Ella held out for about 10 minutes.

Paul's office hosted a take your kids to work day this year for Christmas!! The mommy's came up for craft time and lunch for the families!! We had a great time making gingerbread houses, picture frames, eating a catered lunch and watching movies!! We had a blast!!

I know it has been forever since I have updated the blog!! With facebook and shutterfly and all the other media outlets, I have neglected the blogging world. To give a quick update, the summer ended and school started. I am loving my team and kids this year....we are all working well together and my kids at school are AMAZING!! One of the best groups I have ever had!! The kids are LOVING being in daycare and LOVE their teacher and the friends they are with everyday. Paul has fully adjusted to his new job and is having fun with his new co-workers. I am just glad he isn't traveling any. With this update, I posted a few pictures from Ella's birthday and a few from last weekend!! Enjoy!!!!

The Fourth 2010

This year for the 4th of July, we hosted a BBQ at our house. Paul smoked brisket, sausage, and chicken....everyone else brought the fixins and dessert. It was sooo yummy. The kids has a blast playing and the adults had fun just visiting with each other. It seems to get a little easier each time with the kids getting older and a little more independent. Ella was so tired at the end of the night....she just curled up in the chair and didn't want to be bothered. When we got home, she asked to go to bed.

We saw about 5 different sets of fireworks from the Cabela's parking lot. It was fun to hang out with friends, watch the kids play, and see fireworks.

Father's Day 2010

For Father's Day this year we went to Houston to celebrate with Gueddo!! We ate good food, went to see Toy Story 3, ate ice cream, and spent some great time with Teta and Gueddo!! Paul and I even got to slip away for some shopping while Ella and Hudson played with Teta and Gueddo at the house. We even planned a trip for the kids to go stay with Teta and Gueddo without mom and dad in July.

Swing Set and Such...

We found a deal on CraigsList for this AMAZING swingset, but it needed a bit of work. Daddy enlisted a lot of guys to help move it to our backyard. Then Mr. Troy came to help fix some boards and attach the tube and slide. After they finished that, we started staining it....which took a long time- we will finish staining it when it gets cooler.

Well, with the premier of The Twilight Series Eclipse quickly approaching, we decided to host a Twilight/New Moon watch party to catch everyone up. I thought tonight would be the perfect night, Paul was scheduled to go to Minnesota and Mom and Dad were going to keep the kids. Well, things didn't work out like that....Paul's trip was postponed and mom got sick, but we still went ahead with our TWI-NIGHT Party!!! And it was a success!! Paul was sweet enough to take the kids (for the 2nd night in a row) to get dinner and play at a friends house.

I really wanted to go all out for our Twilight Themed Party....if I had endless funds, I would have done LOTS more, but I had a budget, so I had a plan....I researched different ideas on line and used lots of them. The girls all pitched in and helped make everything Twi-Perfect!!

When our Twi-Fans came, they were welcomed by our TWI-NIGHT sign..... ......walked by the Wall of Fame Twilight Family Photos....

Yes, you read that correctly, Happy 4th Birthday!!! With such a busy Christmas, we didn't get to throw a proper party for Hudson. We found out that Disney on Ice was coming to town, so we gathered a few of our closest friends and their mommy's and went to Disney on Ice. We had a blast!!

It seems Disney knew it was Hudson's birthday...hahaha!! We had a picnic on the floor with some of our friends before we left.

Emory's Birthday Party

Today, the first day of Spring, Emory's mommy and daddy planned an amazing Big Top Carnival for Em's 2nd birthday. But Mother Nature had other plans, it was a high of 47 with snow on the ground....so the Big Top Carnival moved to the gym at a local church down the street....and it worked wonderfully!!! They had car races, bean bag toss, the bounce house, pick a duck, the ball in a bucket, face painting, bowling, and a cake walk. It was so much fun!! Emory, thank you for such a FUN party....we really had a blast!!!

American Girl

Last week, Paul brought us back some surprises from Minnesota. He brought Hudson a fun St. Patty Day's hat and a wolfy named Jacob. For me, well, I got a beautiful strand of black and white pearls with a matching bracelet. But Ella, well, she got her FIRST AMERICAN GIRL...a bitty baby. We named her Gracie. So, on the Friday of Spring Break us and the Christian's headed to Dallas to eat lunch with the 'Daddy's' and then hit American Girl. It was magical. Ella was so excited to get 'Gracie's' hair done and play for a while. It was crazy crowded and it was a 2 hour wait just to get her hair done. Here are a few pics of our fun day!!!!

The first weekend of Spring Break, we headed out to Gilmer. We spent some quality time with Mamaw and Papaw and the family. Papaw recently fell and broke his shoulder and has a really hard time getting around. We had such a good time hanging out with our family!!

All ABOARD- The Express!!

This week we started Blast Ball. For those of you who don't know, Blast Ball is a game much like T-Ball, but you only run to first base (which isn't as far as regular t-ball) and first base squeaks when you jump on it. Hudson had so much fun and was SOOOOO sad when we left our 30 min. practice. I told him not to worry, we will be playing Blast Ball every weekend for the next 3 months!! Lots of kids from his daycare are on his team. Coach Cory said he has skills, we will see what happens!!

Cowtown Marathon and Family Dinner

This weekend was full of family and fun!! Paul volunteers every year for the Cowtown Marathon. This is the first year Hudson went with him. They got up by 5:30 am and headed off to breakfast with the guys. which included Uncle Ron and Papa!! Then they stood in the freezing cold to direct the runners where to go. Hudson said he enjoyed it, but that it was too cold for him. Here are a few pictures of my boys before leaving oh so early in the morning.

Snow Days 2010

Hi blog-family. I know it has been a while, and for that, I am sorry. Things have been crazy busy with new jobs, new daycare, and just day-to-day life. So, with a SNOW DAY today, I thought I would update!! Thursday morning around 2:00am, it started snowing at our house. It didn't stop for 24 hours. How crazy....we ended up with over a foot of snow on the ground and a SNOW DAY- out of school Friday and then President's Day on Monday- a FOUR day weekend!! The roads weren't bad at all, but they are slushy. Here are a few pics of our fun SNOW DAY!!

A little later that night, Dixie tried to navigate the snow. She was so cute trying to 'run' around, but the snow pretty much covered.

Friday morning we put on our 'snow gear' (rain boots, cowboy boots and coats) and headed out to play in the snow. Ella had a little trouble making it through the snow, so Daddy helped her out!!

We went to see Dr. A yesterday because Hudson still had a fever. We found out he has a virus that is going around on top of an ear infection. We have been on antibiotics for 24 hours and have been fever free since yesterday!! YEAH!! This means Hudson, Ella, and mommy will be going back to school tomorrow- I have been out since last Wednesday- CRAZY!!!

Back to my point, while we were seeing Dr. A, she told me that she spoke with the radiologist and after using a magnifying glass, he found that Hudson rib is growing a little differently. He couldn't see if with out looking with the magnifying glass- it was just a few millimeters off. It won't effect him now or later in life, but could eventually straighten out.

I am glad to finally have an answer- it was really scary to have the doctor tell me that she fully expected for them to find a mass of some sort.

Thank you for all of your support and prayers during this crazy time in our lives. God answered and we are thankful!!!

Dr's Visit Today

We got our ultrasound done today and they didn't find anything. The radiologist looked at the scans and found nothing, which is good. We are working on what the next step. The radiologist is going to compare the scans from today with the xrays we had taken in August to see if he can find anything. Then he will talk to Dr. A and see where they want to go from here. They are also saying it could be a rib anomaly. I am not sure what that is, but it could just be some sort of abnormality. We will keep you posted as we know what is going on. For now, we are going to head to the Yamboree this weekend!!! How fun!!!

Update on Hudson

Well, we have an update for Hudson. We went to see Dr. A yesterday, she wants us to do an ultrasound on his bump. We are going to tomorrow to Cook's to get him checked out. Please pray that he does well with the doctors and he coorperates with them. We will update as soon as we have some info.

We celebrated Baby Miles dedication this past Sunday. After a special service at Glenview, we headed to Auntie Jen and Uncle Ron's house for a yummy brunch. We had a fun time visiting friends and celebrating little Miles and the blessing he is to our life!!! What made the day more special is that is was also Ella's actual birthday. It was such a special day for our family!!

Update on Hudson

I know everyone is wanting an update on Hudson. With school starting this has been my first chance to give an update. We spoke with our doctor a week ago and she is going to have us come in once a month to measure his bump. She talked with the radiologist and they still don't think there is any reason to do a CATscan. Some days, I feel like it is smaller, and other days I feel like it is the same. I don't think it has gotten any bigger though.

We are asking that you pray for Hudson.

Last Thursday while at dinner, I noticed a bump under his shirt on the left side of his chest. I compared it to the other side and his top rib bone was sticking out.
Friday, we went to the doctor to get it checked out. She thought it was 2 bones fused together, so she sent us to get xrays. After waiting all day for the results, we found out that his bones looked great....in doctors terms, no tumor in the bone and they were not fused together. So, she told us to watch it for 4-6 weeks to see if it grows. If it does, we will do a CAT scan.
Today, Paul talked with our doctor again and asked for best and worst case scenario...best case- fatty tissue under his rib bone making it push out, in which it will dissolve in the next 4-6 weeks. worst case- a cancerous tumor.
She really feels it is fatty tissue since there weren't any dark spots on the xray. She is holding off on the CAT scan so Hudson isn't exposed unnecessary radiation.
Hudson is fine and doesn't notice anything...it doesn't hurt him.
Please pray this is just fatty tissue that goes away and pray for our family as we are waiting the 4 weeks to see if there are any changes.

Beaver's Bend Trip

A few weeks ago, we took a trip with most of our family to Beaver's Bend, Oklahoma. We had about 14 from East Texas and 6 of us from here. Ryan and Jen didn't make it this year....Miles was still a little small to make it this year....We really missed you guys!!

We had 2 super nice cabins with the adults (6 people) in one and us kids (14 people) in another. Our parents were nice enough to give us kids the bigger cabin which was AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL!!!! Paul and I lucked out (and by lucked out I mean we pick for ourselves) with the King Suite downstairs. It had a bathroom that looked like it came from Extreme Home Makeover. The shower itself was truly amazing....I was offering date nights for spouses in our bathroom, but I didn't have any takers.

The rain held off long enough for us to get out on the lake Sunday. Lesa was wonderful to work her magic to get us on a really nice, new boat for the day. Once out on the lake, we met up with our cousins on the wave runners. Hudson's favorite part was definitely the wave runners...I think he would have driven one by himself if we would have let him!! Sunday, July 19th, my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. All mom wanted for their anniversary was for her whole family to come to church with them and have lunch at their house. That was an easy request to fill!! Despite the air and sounds issues at church, it was fun visiting the place where I have so many good memories of growing up. My parents were seated in their normal seats in the balcony with their friends scattered around in their usual spots. It did feel a little bit like walking down memory lane (especially our wedding day). Well, now on to the part you like best, the pictures!!

Swim Lessons!!

The past 2 weeks Hudson has been taking swim lessons with Emler and we LOVE it. Well, I LOVE it, Hudson just likes it!! He is 'swimming' underwater for 10 seconds....we use the term swimming very loosely. It is more of Hudson freaking out and kicking his arms and legs underwater for 10 seconds....but hey he is doing it!! We really do love Emler and would recommend it is anyone!!

Father's Day 2009

We celebrated Father's Day with my family on Saturday night. I (yes, me.) cooked a big meal for the family. Paul helped a little, but overall, I prepared the meal. For those of you who don't know me, I am not a great cook- well, I don't cook enough to know if I am a good cook- Paul is an amazing cook, so I usually leave the cooking up to him. But since it was Father's Day, I really wanted to make a meal for him and our family!! So, Ryan, Jen, and Miles & Mom and Dad came over and we enjoyed a quiet evening at the house- by quiet I mean we had a 3 year old, a 1 year old and a newborn....so you can imagine.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Saturday night we had my roommates from Baylor over for a little cookout!! It was tons of fun to get together and just hang out!! Our kids got to know each other pretty well. Ella was her usual bossy self and brought Carter to tears (then put on the most pitiful I'm sorry face to apologize) and decided to keep pulling Hudson's hair. Ella was definitely in a mood....but she finally decided to warm up. We had a great time together....it is so nice to have that connection with friends that you can always pick up right where you left off the last time you saw them. We are all spread out, Lauren's in Austin, Whitney's in Richardson, and Tif's in Oklahoma....so it is nice when we can spend time together!!

Little Miles

I just wanted to update you with pictures of our precious little nephew. He has grown up the past 2 weeks so much!! Unfortunately our family hasn't been able to see him since we have all been sick (Paul & I with a sinus infection and Ella with double pink eye and a sinus infection.) This past weekend we had the great honor of attending the opening of the new COWBOYS STADIUM!! I really don't know what was more excited, getting to be there for the opening event at the new stadium or seeing GEORGE STRAIT sing....he is AMAZING!!! We started with a good ole BBQ in my parents backyard. Paul cooked and we ate.....plus, what would an event be at my parents house without our traditional Red Oven Red Velvet cake. Eisie got to experience The Red Oven and even learn a little history about it.

Blake Shelton was by far the most entertaining, I don't know if he is like that at every concert or if he was just drunk, but he was hilarious!!

Summer is here, but you can't have summer without an End of Year Class Party. Hudson & Ella's school had an end of year ice cream party for their kids. It was my last day of school with checkout and crazy stuff and Paul was sick, Hudson called Nana and Papa to see if they would come to his End of Year party. They happily agreed. Now we didn't think about the effects of Nana and Papa leaving without the kids after the party. But they had a great time!! They ate ice cream and played!!

The Story of Miles

For those of you who don't know Ryan and Jen, they have had a long journey to becoming parents. I am not going into all the details, but little Miles is a miracle, a true gift from God.

Ryan and Jen had been trying to get pregnant for 5 years. They tired many different things. Finally they decided to forgo all treatments and last October, they found out they were pregnant.

I will never forget the night they came to tell us the amazing news. It was October 3rd, the night before Ella's first birthday. If you have kids, you know how crazy it is to plan for a first birthday, so I didn't understand when Ryan called and wanted to return a ladder he had borrowed. It was pretty late and we were sitting in our living room with Paul's mom putting together gift buckets for Ella's party. Ryan and Jen came in with and just started chatting like normal. Then Ryan said, Jen has a card for you. If you know Jen, then you know this is very normal.....she is the card queen. So, I opened it and was shocked to see a picture of a sonogram. It said, "The Little Miracle You've Prayed For" Due Date May 31, 2009. We all just cried and were so excited!!! I asked for permission to hang it on the fridge since all our friends would be over the next day and see it. Ryan and Jen agreed!!

The other part to the story is that they did not find out the gender of the baby. So, I knew when Baby D was born, I was going to be there when Ryan got to announce, "Well.....IT'S A BOY!!!! AND HIS NAME IS MILE CHRISTOPHER!!" (Christopher is Ryan's first name)

Mother's Day in Kemah

Mother's Day 2009 we went to Houston to celebrate with Teta. We drove down to Houston on Friday night and arrived late. We tried to just transfer the kids over, Hudson was successful, but Ella was a different story. She didn't want to go to bed at all.....Mommy tired and tired to keep her quiet, but I think she woke up the whole neighborhood (with the exception of her brother). Saturday morning, Mommy and Daddy got to run some errands while Ella and Hudson spent some quality time with Teta and Gueddo. Ella ended up with new shoes for Mother's Day!! YEAH (Mommy has be begging for a while) Saturday about lunch time we headed out for Kemah. It was so nice outside and the kids really enjoyed it!! We rode the train, took a walk by the water, and ate ice cream....so fun!! Sunday we plan on getting up and heading out for a Sunday morning Mother's Day breakfast. Now to the good stuff....pictures!!!

Let me start this post by saying thank you to all those avid readers of our blog who so kindly remind me frequently that I need to do some updating!! :) I am so far behind, so I thought I would start back with Easter. It was such a fun weekend, I couldn't resist posting our favorite moments. I also need to state that I don't have pictures of Teta and Gueddo because all of those pictures are on Teta's camera, so Teta, if you can email those to me, I will add them to the blog. Both sets of grandparents are important to us and our children!! Both of you were here to celebrate this special day with us!!

For Easter, my mom carried on my Memaw's tradition of dying Easter eggs with the kids. My Memaw used to dye eggs with us every year in Newby...it is something that was special to me growing up and I would love that tradition to carry on. However, maybe we need to wait a few years before we try it again. Starting off things went okay....Hudson put the little tabs in the cups and then dropped in the eggs. But when it was time to take them out, he didn't want help and when Nana tried to help, the blue dye went all over the patio, Hudson, & Nana.

Friday night, Teta and Gueddo came in town and we went to dinner and spent time at the house just playing...Teta and Gueddo hadn't seen the kids since Christmas (way too long!!) Saturday morning we spent some time shopping at the mall...again, always fun with 2 small children. Saturday afternoon Eisie held her 1st Annual Eisenhour Easter Egg Extravaganza!!! I think there we 18 kids there with all their parents and some grandparents!! In all I think there were over 50 people there!! It was so much fun!! We can't wait to hunt eggs again next year!!

For my 30th birthday, I celebrated all weekend!! I won't go into a lot of detail since it was a few weeks ago!! Friday night, I did a girls night out (we invited the boys to dinner). We even had a visit from the SL police department for being too loud in our hotel room, but we had a great time. I did forget my camera for the evening....so girls, if you have any pics from the evening, let me know!!

Saturday, mom and I did our usual spa and shopping....so much fun!! Saturday evening, we got a babysitter and the fam went to dinner at Silver Fox. I had never been there....it was really great!! We went back to our house for dessert where Uncle Ron & Huddy enjoyed a fun game of 'ball'.

Extreme Home Makeover

Back before Christmas, Ty and his crew were about 2 miles from our house doing an EXTREME HOME MAKEOVER!!! It should air sometime this month or next month. Here is a pic of the finished house!! I will say, I was an EHM stalker. I drove by it (or as close as I could get to it) just about everyday. It is a beautiful house!!

Today Paul took both kids in for their well-checks....I think this will be the last time he does that by himself. Ella was getting her 15 month shots and Hudson was getting some blood taken for a referral to an allergist or a breathing specialist (the poor kids throws up all the time). Christmas in Newby

We were able to go to Newby the day after Christmas to spend some time with Papaw and play. The kids had fun with Aunt Charlotte and playing outside in the nice weather. We were able to put all 15 of us at one table for lunch...it was so fun!! Here are a few pics from our fun day!!

Christmas afternoon/evening we went to my parents house for a fun enchilada/tamale dinner. It was delicious!! Then we opened the throngs of presents. We had so much fun and enjoyed spending time with the whole family.

Christmas morning, we heard Hudson's door open.....then we didn't hear anything else. He is usually pretty good about coming in our room once he wakes up, but he didn't. We waited until Christmas Eve to wrap all the presents and put them under the tree....so needless to say, he was amazed by everything!! Hudson got everyone up and said, "Let's open presents!!" So we did!!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve we went to the early service at our church with mom, dad, Ryan, Jen, and Jen's family. It was really neat, the whole family took The Lord's Supper after the service. It was a special to be able to it altogether. During the service, Ella only lasted about 10 minutes, Hudson lasted a little longer, but then we had to change a stinky!! We missed my favorite part of the service, lighting the candles. I saw pics and saw it on the screen. It still was a special service. After the service mom and dad came over and we ate pizza, made cookies for santa, mom made sausage rings and egg cassarole. We had fun hanging out and playing. We also watched ELF....Dad had never seen it and really enjoyed it!! The kids got new pajamas from Nana and Papa.

Hudy's 3rd Birthday!!

Today is Hudson's 3rd Birthday!! Three years ago today, we were at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas and the wonderful Dr. Monti waited all day and half of the night to welcome Hudson into this world. He was born at 11:56 pm, we started at 8 am. It was a long day, but he was worth the wait.

It is absolutely crazy how the times goes by so quickly. He looks and acts older each day. He is really getting a funny sense of humor....tonight while I was putting the cart away at Wal Mart, he told Paul, "Let's leave mommy." so funny:) We did celebrate his birthday with a CARS party. It was a blast. This year he really understood it was his party and enjoyed every minute of it!! Here are some pics from his party!!

Baby Bump

Auntie Jen is showing off her baby bump. Jen, Ryan, and Baby D are doing well. Jen has her good days and bad days, so please pray that she gets over this sickness stuff and she can enjoy her pregnancy. We can't wait to meet Baby D on May 29th!! Trevlyn (a friend at church) is known for calling the sex of the baby. Since Ryan and Jen aren't finding out, I won't say what she is thinking, but I can say it is the same thing I am thinking!! We will just have to wait and see!!

Yes, we have sold our house!! It sold in about 6 weeks and we had planned on moving into my parents house, but God had other plans for us!! I told Paul to go look at houses with our wonderful realtor Brenda- since Paul is the picky one, it was easier to have him go look first. So, here is our timeline:
Tuesday- we got an offer on our house- we counter-offered
Wednesday- they counter offered- we accepted
Friday- Paul & Brenda look at houses.
Saturday- Our family of 4 went back to look a few of the houses.
Sunday- we take the parents to look at the houses.
Monday- we looked one more time and we ended up signing the paper work!!

I am not gonna go into all the details, but I know God's hand is in all of this and we are just so very excited!!!! We close the day before Thanksgiving and will be moving over Thanksgiving weekend. Wish us luck!!

Trunkfest- Happy Halloween

This year for Trunkfest (our church's version of trick or treating) we hosted a trunk. We decorated it with MAVS colors and had Hudson's little basketball goal out there for some interaction. We started at 5:15 with decorating and preparing for our trunk-a-treaters and finally closed it down around 8:45. It was a long night (over 10,000 people came), but tons of fun.

It is crazy how much changes in a year. The kids have grown like weeds and luckily we haven't. We didn't do our annual trip to the pumpkin patch with our SS class this year, so we made plans to go with the Eisenhour family. The boys played and ran until they got in tired. Fall Festival 2008

This year we had our annual SS fall get together at the Eisenhour house instead of the Pumpkin Patch. It was a lot of fun and the kids got to run and play to their hearts desire. It was fun to see all the kids dressed up in their costumes.

Yamboree 2008

Last weekend we went to the 71st East Texas Yamboree in Gilmer. It was so much fun with Hudson being older. This was Ella's 2nd Yamboree....she was only 2 weeks old last time and she stayed at Mamaw's house the whole time and didn't enjoy any of the festivities. Hudson & Ella went down early on Thursday with Mom and Dad. Paul and I were able to go see the movie Fireproof....if you haven't seen it, it is a really good movie about faith and marriage. I would encourage anyone to see it!! Paul & I left for Gilmer on Friday morning. We all had a blast. We watched 2 parades, ate some great food, and rode some good rides. We really enjoyed a wonderful weekend in Gilmer!!! Hudson enjoying the parade- we waved at EVERYONE who went by!!

Best Birthday Present EVER!!

I have to say that Ella's best birthday present came from Uncle Ron & Auntie Jen. They came over on Friday night before Ella's birthday to give it to us. Uncle Ron (Ryan-my brother) was pretty insistent on getting his ladder back on Friday night in the midst of us getting everything ready for Ella's party. Ryan & Jen came in and handed us a card- which if you know Jen, getting a card from her isn't that unusual. I (not really thinking anything of it) opened it and there it was.....a picture of my baby niece or nephew- Ella & Hudson are going to be big cousins!!!!! For those of you who don't know, Ryan & Jen, along with many others having been praying for this little one for the past 5 years!!! It is so amazing how God works His miraculous plan in His own time!!! Please be praying for all 3 of them as they go through their pregnancy and every day life. They are traveling overseas in the near future, so please keep them in your prayers and they have their 'babymoon'-as Ryan says!! Baby D- We are so excited!!! We have prayed for you little one and will pray for you each day you grow and develop until the day you are here!! We will be at the hospital to meet you when you arrive!! Until we meet, please don't give your Mommy too much of a hard time!! We love you so much already and you are only 7 weeks old!!

Today is GRANDPARENTS Day....yes, many of you believe that this holiday is just yet another Hallmark holiday, but I think it is great day to celebrate family and GRANDPARENTS. We did call my grandparents and Sam & Nadia to wished them a happy day. We were able to spend Grandparents Day with my parents. They came to our church and then we spent the afternoon in the Stockyards. It was a lot of fun!! We started with lunch at The Love Shack.......ever heard of Chef Tim Love? He is a native Fort Worthian and is an amazing chef. He owns 2 places in the Stockyards and we enjoyed some good eatin' from his burgers and shakes place.

After lunch, we shopped around a bit and mom & dad were able to get a few Christmas presents out of the way. In the Stockyards, they were having an old timers car show...it was fun to walk around and see all the fun cars....I think it took Dad on a trip down memory lane to high school. We made it a point to be at Stockyard Station when the train pulled in from Grapevine. We were able to see the vintage train engine in the turn around. Hudson was so excited and loved it!
